Splash into Summer Giveaway Hop (in winter) …and a Fi50 reminder!

splash into summer hop

Given that my shelf is located in a place where we enjoy (suffer would be the better word) temperatures in the 30s all year round, I thought it would be a reasonable action to join in with the Splash into Summer giveaway hop hosted by Bookhounds and running from May 28 – June 8th 2016, despite the fact that we’re only days away from winter here in Brisbane.

I am offering one winner the chance to win a book of their choice up to the value of $15 AUD from the Book Depository to make their summer (or winter) more bearable.  My giveaway is open internationally, provided the Book Depository ships to your country for free.  Other Ts & Cs are in the rafflecopter.  To enter, just click on this link:

And while I’ve got you here, allow me to remind you that Fiction in 50 for May kicks off on Monday.  Our prompt for this month is…

mixed messages

If you’d like to participate, just create a piece of fiction in fewer than 51 words, post it and link back to it in the comments of my post on Monday.  For more detailed instructions and future prompts, just click here.

Can’t wait to see what people come up with!

Until next time,

Bruce

  1. It would depend on how extreme the temperatures and weather are in each season. I hate being either hot or cold! If I can live in an area with mild winters, I’d choose that; if I can live in an area with fairly cool summers, I’d choose that.

  2. I’d probably choose perpetual Winter, but in Australia you don’t really know. The weather here is crazy. One day sunny and the next raining.

  3. Definitely perpetual summer, because it’s already almost perpetual winter over here:) and cold, dampness and bulky clothes are no fun:)

  4. Perpetual summer! I live in an area that is basically that anyway (Florida). I hate the cold and would never move back to somewhere that gets cold.
