Welcome fellow wayfarers to the Small Fry Safari KidLit Readers Challenge 2014! Below are the categories and rules for participation, as well as the linky if you would like to join up.
* The Challenge will run from January 1st to December 31, 2014.
* Challengees must read at least one book from each category (listed below). Challengees must read a DIFFERENT book for each category – even if your book title might fit a number of categories, it will only count towards a single category. Challengees are free to choose which category best suits.
* Books selected must be aimed at a target age range of under-18, so anything from cloth books to Young Adult is acceptable. Books can be any format you like – print, audio, ebook – and any genre. Alternatively, books could be ABOUT children – for example, parenting books, or memoirs about children
* The categories listed are a loose guide and creative interpretation of the categories is not only encouraged, but applauded. Loudly.
* Challengees should link their reviews/progress under the relevant linky lists on this page. If you don’t have a blog, you could link to your Goodreads shelf/reviews, or simply comment on this page as you go.
*Feel free to display the challenge button (html for which is in the sidebar) and share about the challenge wherever you like!

Why, this is interesting. I left a comment right behind Stanley and Katrina, or so I thought. Well, once again, I am joining this interesting challenge, I mean safari. I had my hat and a big pen ready to hunt down these books, but those were lost with the original comment. Now I do not know what I will do.
Do have a question. The challenge, sorry, safari runs all year: twelve months. There are only 8 categories. Wouldn’t it be good to have twelve so we are forced to read one category a month. And then we can see who returned from the safari safe and well-read and who got eaten by the l ions while trying. Just a thought. I hope this is not lost. I don’t’ think I could write another comment. 🙂

I did consider having twelve but then decided a gentle introduction to Safari travel was probably a wiser idea. But it’s something to think about for next year – I also considered having a monthly challenge with a different theme or genre each time, but it all seemed too much like hard work. For some reason, eight seems far more user-friendly than twelve…
And I did get your first comment – I even replied! Not sure what has happened there, I will check my comments feed.

Well, I never have figured out how and where to link for each book. But it occurs to me that I’ve already done one for the “word play” category, as the title of Shirley Link and the Hot Comic is a pun. Reviewed here:
