It’s Fi50 time for February already! If you’d like to join in, simply create a piece of fiction or poetry in fewer than 51 words inspired by our monthly prompt, then link your effort to the comments of this post. For more information, click on the image at the top of the post!
Our prompt for this month is…
And I have titled my contribution…
Into the Breach
Fred gazed disconsolately at the contents of his pantry.
He’d left the grocery shopping late, sure, but hadn’t expected the situation to be so dire.
He’d promised Angelina that he’d make her a home-cooked meal and there was nothing for it.
Girding his loins, he googled “recipes: noodles and vegemite”.
For those of you planning ahead, the prompt for next month will be…
Until next time,
Bruce
LOL…cute story.

Miss Universe was so attractive!
Now Mommy Universe was gravid.
Baby, it’s time to split.
My little one! Stay with me forever.
But teenage universes can be difficult, and soon have to leave home.
One universe becomes two.
And so on and so forth.
A beginning, a middle, no end.

I never thought of that, googling the ingreds first, to get a recipe–I’m usually searching for a new recipe for what I want to make, or whether I can do it differently than however I usually cook (stove, oven, etc). Like last week, I googled to see if I could make refried beans in the crock pot…sure, and it was supposed to be less work. NOT less work–BUT, I used the bean broth (crock pot recipe calls for way more liquid than I’d use while stirring it for hours on the stove) to make soup, so that was a nice “cook’s compensation” 🙂

lol! I’ve done noodles with herbs and mayonnaise, but never vegemite!
Here’s mine, also with a culinary twist.
