About

maniacal book club bruceI’m Bruce, a bookshelf gargoyle.  That’s the official title anyway.  A more accurate description would be “bookend”.  Given that my duties consist entirely of “sitting” and “being still”, I have an overabundance of time on my hands in which to muse upon the finer points of literature in all its forms.  I invite you to join me. In musing, that is, not in sitting. I don’t mean to be rude, but I doubt you’d fit on the shelf.

Now that we’re friends, I’d like to say that apart from cover images and quotes from books, the writing is my own and I would therefore be grateful if you didn’t take it without asking or linking back.  In return, I give you full permission to point out any spelling or grammatical errors that I may have forgotted to check.

Need something reviewed?

Well, you can always ask!  But please note that I am no longer accepting review requests from self-published authors due to the high volume of print books I am currently receiving from major publishers.  This may change in the future and if it does, I will let you know.

  2. Oh man…Gargoyles of all type should check-out the picture book called The Book That Eats People by John Perry. Now, I’m biased Gargie as I illustrated it. But it really is a book a gargoyle should share a shelf with. I think it would be safe. The book that is.

    • I have considered it, but haven’t got around to actually investigating how it all works. Perhaps I should – it would provide a new outlet for generally pestering and hectoring about books. And I can’t resist gaining more minions. I mean followers. 😉
