Spooktacular Giveaway Hop! Win (Mildly) Scary Stuff!

Spooktacular2014

Welcome to my stop on the Spooktacular Giveaway Hop! The hop is running from October 15th to 31st and is hosted by I Am a Reader!  Don’t forget to hop around the other 200+ blogs participating in the event, and try your hand at winning all sorts of spooky stuff.

I have decided to provide some spooky options for readers of all ages for this hop.  My giveaway is open internationally, provided the Book Depository ships to your country for free.  One winner will be able to choose ONE of the books below as their prize.  Click on the book cover to find out more about the book!

For the little horror buff:

sherlock holmes little primer

For the middle grade scare-fiend (one of my personal favourites):

uncle montague

And for the grown-up terror:

screaming staircase

Although, if the winner has already read/bought the first in the series of Tales of Terror, OR Lockwood and Co, I will be happy to substitute the second in the series if the winner so chooses.

  1. I will hide my eyes is how I deal with scary, or clutch at my husband’s stretched out shirt ( guess who did that). He loves scary stuff and he lets me sit there and cling.

  2. My tolerance is getting lower as I age. I used to be able to watch scary movies alone but not anymore. Scary books are very few on my bookshelf. I don’t mind reading them once in a while though.

  4. Jumps-at-bumps-in-the-night. I LOVE spooky, but gore (and anything poking out eyes) gives me nightmares.
Thanks for the giveaway! You can enter my Spooktacular Giveaway at From the Shadows. Happy Halloween! 🙂

  5. My tolerance is not the best and not the worst!! I hide my eyes and also sometime jump at the bumps in the night. I do not have the nightmares=thank goodness. I love to read scary stories, but I have trouble watching the movies!!!

  6. I can’t watch horrors by self, I’d usual pull the blanket over my eyes if I’m watching a horror but if I’m with people then I can pretty much tolerate a scary movie. I do jump a lot though.

  7. My spooky read tolerance is probably pretty high…I’d say monsters nightmare. Lol. I love dark and spooky reads, the scarier the better! I don’t think I recall a book that was too scary 😛

  8. Bring on the horror! I don’t scare easily so finding a good scary book it tricky! Psychological terror will get to me the quickest though. And it’s a favorite to read about!

  9. Jump-at-bumps-in-the-night is my level of getting scared, my husband can startle me in the shower all the time, even after 7 years.
